I’ve been logging into my affiliate accounts and having a look around to see what we have to do to add buy now links to our sites and if we have to do anything in the accounts themselves.

SWReg.org seems a bit odd, but it makes sense from their point of you, you have a basic url and you added an afliate id you make up yourself, when you get your first sale, they create and account for you with that id. The password is the same too.

Replace ‘usd’ with ‘gbp’ or ‘euro’ as appropriate

RegNow seems similar, they have a standard url and they add your affilate id in the account manager. A lot vendors have their settings set et to auto accept,so you just have to setup the urls on your site.

ShareIT, I tried to make a generic link from my products on shareit via my affiliate login but its didn’t like the product ID so it looks like you have to get people to accept you as an affiliate first.

So SWReg sounds the easiest to setup. Also RegNow is quite simple, but you do have to check that affiliate are auto accept, or gain confirmation.

Thinking about the bigger picture and the products I could sell best, I think authors products like submission software, programmer tools etc.

I’ve been trying to think up the best functionality for my site, I think I’ll have a recommended software section underneath the categories on the front page. To do this I’m going to try and add some extra fields to my pads table but I’m not sure what at the moment.

Although you said my big kids mask factory advert had little impact, maybe I should have the advert on program pages too. I guess its looks good having them on the front page even if they don’t actually work at the moment.

I think for the moment I’m just going to go with RegNow, SWReg has no affiliate registration process up front and I don’t feel comfortable about that and ShareIT is took much hassle.

I was thinking that we could try and take the pain out of affiliate revenue setup, by doing both of our affiliate accounts at once. I mean you have to look at the affiliate then the revenue then add that tot he account. Perhaps this process could be made quicker if it was done for each site at the same time.

I guess we made some sort of administration screen on our sites to include these in our sites.

Coming back to this posting if I were to have rotating links to program instead of text adverts I could include the highest percentage affiliate with a better viewing.
