Here’s my initial attempt at a new email format for software acceptance/ updating on SoftwareLode. There will only be one or two word differences between the emails - one will say updated, the other added.

Thats the kind of thing I have now.
A while ago I decided to send out HTML emails, I reckon they make a goo impression and that most people will be able to accept them.
I do think we need to add some advertising space in there.
I was thinking at the weekend I’d have some sort of flag which would enable me to iterate round adverts somehow.
Buts its a great opportunity wasted if we don’t use it better.
My new email is now up and running with slight modifications from the draft above. I’ve included the invite/ reminder in the email to submit to SoftTester.
There are two angle to advertising. One is trying to push your own products, the second is encouraging people to buy ad slots.
The mail above - though only a draft and subject to mods - does include an offer to authors to advertise on the site. I’m not so sure authors will be interested in, e.g. a kids mask ad - they certainly won’t be looking for such a product when they are submitting software.
Can you post a new entry with a possible new acceptance message? Whether or not the message is HTML, it would be good to continue the discussion about the content of the message.
We’ll as I’ve now prioritised things, the affliate stuff is quite low on the list, but the inbound links were high. So I’ve created a new email with the 5 star coin in it.
I can add affiliate stuff later on.
