16The value of directory submissions?
Tags : Directories, SEO, To Do Posted in: Search Engine Optimisation
I’ve now submitted my new MS Access program site to about 250 directories using Mikes submitter tool. I’m now well into PR 0 directories.
I don’t think its worth doing any more, working on the premiss that sites with no PR will not pass me a slice of their PR?
However, I was thinking of waiting to see how many links I get. Then seeing if its worth doing this on my others site. But I want to go further and submit a pad file. So I won’t be able to tell how much value directories give my site.
I’m also not sure which sites / pages I should submit next?
Ideally I’d like all my pages submitted separately to all the directories

Well, it all depends on whether PR0 is really 0 or just a low value that gets rounded to 0 if you see what I mean.
Directory category pages have almost always been shown as PR 0 but they still end up giving you a PR value if you submit to (and get accepted) on lots. One strategy might be to submit to 10 for each of your sites every day - this way it won’t become too much of an overhead.
You also find that the vast majority of directories will only accept the homepage and won’t give you deep links.
I’ll be updating the tool in the next weeks to include any other non-PR0 directories I can find.
The whole idea is that it’s a low (or 0) cost way of getting backlinks!
So how many directories have you submitted your site too ?
Have you just submitted the one site, one page ?
I guess the SEO book also says add one or two inbound links a week and using your tool makes this quite easy
